Biennale Donna (English version)

 (from 1984 to 2010)
The "Biennale Donna" has been created in 1984 as a female artistic exhibition which embraces various  expressions of art, not to single out but rather to emphasize and underline the undeniable value of female artists. The first two editions were entitled Figure dallo sfondo and only in 1988, the event is renamed as Biennale Donna. All editions originate from projects of UDI (Unione of Italian Women) of Ferrara which, with the help of a Scientific Committee composed of women expet from various fields of art, presents the event to the Municipality and Province of Ferrara and to the Regione Emilia-Romagna to get their financial and organisational support. The Biennale Donna is organized in collaboration with the Modern Art Gallery of Ferrara and it's held in the Gallery exhibition spaces.

Since 1990 the Biennale Donna makes use of the patronage of the Ministero delle Pari Opportunità.
